This year is gonna be an insane year for us. (and most likely the release year?)
We definitely skipped the demo versions 0.6, but that's because those updates mostly added new systems to the beta - Now we're back with 0.7 with a changelog that doesn't even fit in a single steam post!
Let's get straight to the point:
What's new in 0.7?
2 New Bosses, 5 New Invaders!
We've almost doubled the content of the demo! Fight the mysterious Shambler in act 1, and defeat the very chessy Grandmaster in act 3!
The rest of the invaders are slowly unlocked as you play the game - but they will change things up quite a bit! The Virus adds negative components to your cards and the Fallen Angel let's you trade Doom for Stars!
We've listened to the feedback!
Of course we always listen to the feedback, but many of the major topics that come up have been finally been completely taken care of:
- Better Tutorial (again): Tutorials are hard! We've remade the tutorial again to be even clearer, and also now added a quick guide for anyone who skips the tutorial or needs a quick reminder!
- Doom System: Slightly reworked to improve the pacing and challenge of the game, with more interesting decision making involved with reducing Doom as well.
- Skippable Repeats and Moves: You can now skip repeats with selections and moves that could be otherwise detrimental for you! We're giving even more control to the player.
- Improved Upgrades: We've realized with your help that the upgrade system wasn't reaching its full potential - so I've redesigned a lot of upgrades, and added new artifacts with a focus on making it feel like upgrades are an even more significant factor in how the player crafts their build.
- You can now push invaders out of the "Doom zone" to stop them from channelling Doom: This was probably one of the most requested feature haha, but we've figured out a way to get it to work intuitively without breaking any of the more advanced invader designs!
... and more!
Some of the craziest Deckbuilder QoL you've ever seen!
- Context-Relevant Previews: Whenever you pick a card or artifact, you'll see the relevant cards in your deck!
- Guaranteed Draw Previews: Whenever you draw cards (and its a guaranteed hit), it will show you what you draw!
- Artifact Trigger Previews: Whenever a card-related artifact triggers, it will show up on the card itself as a big reminder!
- Deck Preview: Hover over your deck or discard pile to see what's in it!
- Better Enemy Panels: Enemies now tell you how much doom and stars they make!
... and more...
And much more! The changelog is so massive it literally doesn't fit in this steam post, If you're really curious, all the changes are written progressively in our beta channel on our discord!
What's next?
LOCALIZATION! We're about to localize the demo into many, many languages. I'm super excited to bring the game to other parts of the world and excited to get more feedback as well!
We are also starting some big activities and participating in quite a few upcoming festivals soon - spread the hype! We won't be in the february next fest though, but our demo and beta is not going anywhere!
This year will be HUGE for us, and I am so happy to have all of your support to help our team thrive! Can't announce anything more - but do stay tuned!
