Attention to all engineers, architects, and mayors; we have an important announcement to make. But first, let us talk about the state of “Pile Up!”.
Recap
Since we released the demo, we have been thrilled just by looking at all the cities you built, exploded, and speedran. The interest you showed made us even more motivated to develop the game.
So, thank you so much to all who streamed the game with so many great moments, created fan art of the cities with their awesome skills and visions, finished the game under three minutes in with pure dedication over twenty hours, and just played or talked about the game.
Thanks to the hype you gave us, we solved all of the problems that occurred in the first weeks with hotfixes. Then, we headed towards working on bigger improvements.
What are the latest updates?
We just finished more quality-of-life changes, including a remake for the camera system, and added a bunch of... well, we will talk about what changes we made in a new update note that we are going to share this month!
So, don’t forget to follow our steam page if you like to get informed when we publish more update notes or important announcements like this.
But wait, doesn’t a new update note mean a new update? Yes, of course! We will update the demo a day after we release the update notes to welcome the Base Builder Fest. So get ready to Pile Up! some brand-new buildings.
About the current state of Pile Up!
We are pretty happy with where “Pile Up!” is going. And currently, we are working on expanding the game with new content! This includes more buildings with interesting twists, a progression system, more ways to explode your city, and some secrets to be discovered! Oh... Also, casinos don’t do boom boom anymore. But this doesn’t mean you won't have to pay your debts. 🙂
We will also give you more information about the game in our next dev log, which will be released when we believe we are ready. But if you are hungry for more info, just check out our socials and Discord server to find some insides or just some moais jamming to Better Call Saul Theme.
Finally
Even though we will release the game as early access, we don’t want to show you an unfinished project. For us, early access means developing each finished aspect of the game, fixing bugs, adjusting the game to the player's needs, and balancing the game furthermore. Because “Pile Up!” is our first game to be released, we want to be very careful with the changes we make.
As you guessed and probably got scared of it, we decided to postpone the release date from the first to the second quarter of 2023 for the sake of the game. Now, while this might sound like devastating news, you need to see that we want to make the best game possible for you. With that being said, we are happy to tell you that this is the first and the last postponement before the release.
We will keep informing you about; the state of the game, when will the closed beta start, and when we will release the game. Until then, take care, have a great week, and stay tuned! 💙
Thank you for all your support,
-Team Remoob
