Every hero needs a home base. In the new Bastion update, Emily’s once-ruined outpost becomes a cozy, customizable refuge between expeditions. Picture the sun setting over distant pyramids as a vortex of stars swirls overhead – this is your canvas. Now you can spend your hard-won materials to renovate the Bastion: tile its floors, hang richly dyed rugs, set lanterns ablaze, and even erect statues or alcoves. Each item not only makes the Bastion more inviting, but also tells a story of your journey.
This mirrors the heart of The Book of Aaru — an isometric rogue-lite set in an evolved ancient Egypt, blending myth and sci-fi with procedurally generated dungeons, handcrafted traps, and rhythmic dual-wielding combat. You survive the chaos, and now you get to shape the calm.
How It Works
The Bastion remains your non-combat hub — but now it’s also a late-game system with real utility:
- Decorate your sanctuary with tile floors, glowing braziers, ornate rugs, and ancient columns.
- Spend leftover materials from your expeditions to build decorations and clean up the ruins.
- Get rewarded in return by scavenging leftover scrap from old furnishings — converting low-value materials into more useful ones.
This turns your safe zone into a strategic exchange system, letting you fine-tune your inventory and make the place your own. It's not just meta-progression — it’s personal.
