Two Unique Ways to Restore Your Health in this Isometric Rogue-Lite Set in an Evolved Ancient Egypt
In battle, even the toughest heroes need a moment to recover. That's why we're thrilled to introduce two distinct healing altars to The Book of Aaru, each with its strategic considerations, adding another layer of depth to this action-packed adventure:
The Grand Altar of Horus: This majestic altar, adorned with the falcon god's likeness, restores a significant chunk of your health (20%). However, it's hidden away in a secret dimension. You'll need a special key to access it, and you'll want to think carefully before using it – other dimensions hold different rewards, and topping off your health might not always be the best choice. This strategic element adds to the challenge of navigating the procedurally generated dungeons.
The Lesser Altar of Thoth: Keep an eye out for these subtle altars scattered throughout the dungeon. Each one heals a small amount (5%) of your health, and you'll likely stumble upon several during your run. Beware - they are often concealed in shadows, making each reward truly earned. They can be found in trap-filled corridors, enemy-packed arenas, and other unexpected places. These labyrinths, filled with traps and dynamic combat arenas, demand constant vigilance.
Tips for Finding and Using Altars
- Listen Carefully: These altars emit a faint, mysterious sound. Train your ear to recognize it, and you'll be able to track them down even when they're hidden from view.
- Adapt to the Dungeon: Unlike Treasures, the locations of Lesser Altars change with each new dungeon generation. You'll need to stay sharp and explore thoroughly every time.
- Seek Guidance: The Seeker's Medallion can point you toward important locations in the dungeon, including healing altars. Craft and activate it to illuminate the path to crucial resources, including healing altars, granting you a tactical advantage.
- Enhance Your Healing: Discover glyphs that can boost the power of healing altars, making them even more effective. This ties into the active meta-progression system.
