I really liked the idea of combining two classic but inherently opposite characters: a soft wax slime and a hard stone gargoyle. This dichotomy of color, texture, nature, and how this crippled monster girl learned to use her weakness as an advantage truly inspired me!
Because there's been a lot of entries, we've decided to add some extra mini-nominations:
Outstanding design - ViolentColor (92) - 10$
The nomination was originally titled "An Unfortunate Misunderstanding" because it wasn't the author's main entry, but an additional artwork that he drew later. It was with great regret that we couldn't accept it as a separate entry, because, conceptually, both characters were too close to each other after all. If the first fractal mushroom girl didn't really touch my heart, the design of this second one is just... wow. Or rather, her lower half. I really liked how this girl's hip joint is done: a mushroom spine leg braided with mushroom fringe stockings. If this particular art had been accepted as a submission, it would have ranked very high in my personal top.
The Balance - Who Knows (130) - 10$
It would seem that it is quite a traditional harpy. But this is a case where form is more important than content, and thanks to the amazingly balanced design, color and reference we've got a surprisingly good and original character.
Creative pitch - Котовуха (105) - 10$
There were a lot of great entries, many of them original, cute, or funny. But it was this author who managed to combine all these qualities best and pack them into the format of a short finished story. We will definitely remember the idea with a giant girl, too!
An embarrassing substitution - Nekr0ns (50) - 10$
I'm going to talk about the author's first entry, an amazing snail knight. No, all of his other character submissions are great, but you can't imagine how much it hurt me when the snail was excluded from the voting! And every question from the audience, like "Why isn't the snail on the list? And why did she disappear from the album?", was like a knife in my heart. But we will honor the snail with an extra nomination!
Supercute reference - АтМосФерА (72) - 10$ (And bananas!)
Sometimes it is enough to choose a good reference for success. When we saw the colony of tiny Honduran white bats, we knew we simply had to have a village of these cute creatures in our game! This alone should earn the author an extra nomination... and a bunch of bananas!
