Valmire twists under the Void’s corruption. Its people turn mad, the dead will not stay buried, and at its heart, something stirs within an ancient tomb.
From July 8 to July 15 AEST, descend into the fallen city in the first Northanda Chronicles Playtest.
Survive the Whispering Wildwoods and breach the city limits. We need you to test new card and party combos, hunt down deadly new enemies, and help us gather the balancing data we need as we build toward our Early Access launch.
Join the community on Discord to share feedback, report bugs, and chat with us throughout the playtest!
Thank you for helping shape the future of Northanda Chronicles.

Introducing Dorian, the Duality
Cast out from Valmire after a dying guardian wolf’s spirit fused with his own, turning him into something monstrous, Dorian now returns to its corrupted streets to hunt the risen dead and grant them mercy.
Dorian is a shapeshifting Slayer / Defender who switches between two powerful forms in battle:
Gunslinger Form (Slayer): Load up on power and unleash it at the right moment with precise, devastating gunfire.
Werewolf Form (Defender): Draw focus to yourself, wear foes down with damage over time, and rely on raw endurance to defend your party.
Playtest Content Overview
We're opening up a big chunk of the early game for this playtest. Here is exactly what you'll be exploring:
Two Full Acts: Battle through both Act I: The Whispering Wildwoods and Act II: Valmire, the Fallen City.
Six Playable Heroes: Build your ideal party from Boltrik, Zorya, Flint, Haldor, Kaelin, and the newcomer Dorian.
Four Escalating Difficulties: Test your limits across four distinct difficulty tiers. Wander the cobblestones on Explorer, complete runs sequentially on Adventurer to unlock Master, then push further to conquer the brutal Voidwalker difficulty.
Please keep the following in mind before jumping in:
Active Development: Northanda Chronicles is still being built, so this playtest is not fully representative of the final game. The 1.0 release will include a third act, more heroes, extra dungeons, enemies, and an expanded card pool.
A Note on Saves: To help us gather clean balancing data for Act II, everyone will start fresh. Don't worry, your demo progress is completely safe, as this playtest uses an entirely separate save system.
Why This Playtest Matters
As a small team of two, this playtest is an incredibly important step for us. Your hands-on feedback will directly help us balance Act II, refine cards, events, and enemy designs, and better understand what you’d like to see more of in Act III and beyond.
