Update 2.1 is here, bringing a wave of bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and a focused rework of one of Deceit 2’s latest maps: The Circus.
Circus Layout Rework — Shaped by Your Feedback
We’ve been listening closely to community feedback and made key changes to the Circus map to improve gameplay flow and pacing:
- Open spaces have been broken up into more distinct “rooms,” creating clearer engagement areas and better navigation.
- Additional pathways into the central area have been added, giving you more options for movement, flanking, and outplaying your opponents.
Regarding Eye Placement:
We know some players have concerns about Eye positions. For now, we’re holding off on changes until we see how these new layout tweaks affect gameplay.
Jump into a few matches and let us know how it feels.
Bug Fixes & Quality of Life Improvements
Alongside the Circus update, we’ve addressed a number of community-reported bugs and polished various aspects of the game to improve overall stability and playability.

Legacy Mode — Built With the Community
Our work on Legacy Mode continues to be a major focus. We’re refining the experience with direct input from community playtests, ensuring it feels both faithful to Deceit 1 and exciting for Deceit 2 players.
Here’s what some of our playtesters are saying:
- Doritos Yarok: "Like Deceit 1 on steroids"
- KimchiDelRey: "A lively mode that offers a lot of fun and puts a new, but familiar spin to the game."
- Estel: "Weird in the sense of fun."
- City: "Really captures legacy Deceit 1's vibe of fast-paced chaotic fun."
- quesnay: "Feels old but new at the same time — a great and refreshing experience."
- Böttcher: "Sehr gut."
- kikiex_: "Astonishing work — represents legacy Deceit very well."
- Classer Gamer: "A treat for both new and returning players."
- The Communist: "Fresh, nostalgic, and fun for all skill levels."
- Biliousdrake: "3 Floors of Fun. D1 but highly improved. Couldn't stop playing."
- SewFiii: “Deceit 2 Legacy Mode proves that social deduction can provide a cut throat competitive experience. The straightforward, yet tense, combat is dangerously paired with sharp questioning exchanges working towards convincing your peers to trust you in the hopes you all might escape The Game Master.”
With more playtests planned, your feedback will continue to shape Legacy Mode into a standout experience for both veterans and newcomers.
What’s Next — The Future of Deceit 2
While Update 2.1 focuses on fixes and refinement, we’re also looking ahead to the future:
A brand new map is in development, more to come on this soon.
A new Cursed role is on the horizon, designed to twist the dynamics of deception in unexpected ways.
Legacy Mode remains a primary focus, with ongoing community playtests and iterations leading up to its full release.
Every piece of feedback — whether it’s about maps, modes, or roles — helps shape Deceit 2 into the game it deserves to be. Keep sharing your thoughts. Keep playing. And keep an eye on what’s coming next.
New maps. New roles. New ways to deceive.
See you in the Ritual!
