So, I wanted to announce a small gameplay update that will go live tomorrow(If everything goes well) and like to introduce a new patch numbering system that will continue until the 1.0 launch.
From now on patches will get a version number and it follows the following pattern(Let's declare the current state as Version 0.5022):
- Major Content Update: Changing the first digit after the point (e.g., 0.5022 -> 0.6022)
- Small Updates: Changing the second digit after the point (e.g., 0.5022 -> 0.5122)
- Bug Fixes: Changing the 3rd and 4th digits after the point (e.g., 0.5022 -> 0.5023)
Following this pattern the next patch will be 0.5122 which will include a new battle mechanic, some small updates to the monk class and Hotkeys.
Gameplay Changes:
Currently there are several skills that can shove enemies in a direction. It didn't do much besides just moving an enemy away. By itself those skills weren't really interesting so I thought I'd add some depths into it by adding collision damage.

- When an enemy is pushed into an obstacle, they will receive collision damage.
- Pushing an enemy into another enemy inflicts damage on both, while pushing an enemy into an ally increases collision damage.
- The amount of collision damage scales with the distance traveled and the level of the target, ensuring its relevance at higher levels. (Note: The damage formula may be adjusted based on feedback.)
- This change also allows for future obstacles on battle maps that utilize this mechanic.
Monk Update:
Monks were still quite lacking in their skill diversity. I wanted to address it with this patch by adding some interesting skill options for them:
-

Opening Strike. A simple skill where the monk will charge through an enemy push them back. Especially good if you've got another enemy behind you

-

Ki Shockwave. Just like Ki strike, this skill deals true damage but in AOE.

-

Anaconda Strike. A strike that continues to travel through every enemy behind the first target and pushes the final target

The monk skill tree will be updated to include these new skills. Two new skills will provide access to multiple skills, aligning with the design of other classes:
At level 8, there will be now the skill "Basic Monk Techniques" that holds the following skills:
- Ki Strike
- Opening Strike
At level 16, there will be now the skill "Advanced Monk Techniques" that holds the following skills:
- Ki Shockwave
- Anaconda Strike
Lastly, there will be additional hotkeys available for exploration and combat as quality-of-life changes. The options menu will allow you to customize keybindings.
