Hey there! It's been a while since our last update. We know you're eagerly waiting for new content, especially new levels. And... this update doesn't include them. ːsteamfacepalmː
Wait, what?! How could we spend all this time and not make new levels?!!1 ːsteamfacepalmːːsteamfacepalmːːsteamfacepalmː

Well, we were up to all sorts of things ːchuchelsmileː
Last time, we mentioned that we were working on the Android version of the game, and we're almost done with it. We'll have a separate announcement about that soon. For now, since we're here on Steam, let's dive into what's new in version 0.5.5, which should be available to play now.
Server Update
This is probably the biggest but least noticeable change. We're temporarily moving away from dedicated game servers to a system where one player's computer acts as the server.
There are pros and cons to this. The main advantage is that the game will no longer depend on our available servers. Now, any number of people can play Chop Chop Guys at any time. The downside is that without dedicated servers, cheating might become easier. We'll mark any accounts caught cheating in our database, and before the full release, we'll wipe them. On release, we'll switch back to dedicated servers. So, cheaters will just lose all their progress. Everyone else will keep their progress and get bonus content for participating in the playtest. What content? We don't know yet. ;)
A Thousand Little Things

Since the last update, we've made over 500 commits (changes, fixes, new bugs) to the project repository. Listing them all would be impossible. Just know that the game is now a little better, a little faster, and a little prettier. Our programming machine Alex (also known as "koban") has been fixing and improving things day and night. No one remembers what exactly anymore, so just launch the game and see for yourself.
Playtest
Today, we opened access to the game for everyone who requested it earlier. This playtest will run indefinitely. At least, we don't plan to turn it off in the next month or two. We'll be fixing bugs and adding new features directly to the live game. You can report bugs on our Discord server. We read all messages almost every day.
That's all for now. See you in the game!
