Hello Jarls,
It's been 3 weeks since the Early Access release of Land of the Vikings, and we are absolutely floored with the amount of messages we've received. Comments, forum posts, feedback, bug reports, everything. Thank you all very much, it's clear that you're all very passionate about the game, which is wonderful to see. Your in-game feedback has already exceeded 5 thousand messages, so we've got plenty to work with!
We've already been updating the game with smaller patches to tackle common pieces of feedback (like being able to turn off disasters), and we will continue to do so.
Now let's get into the future of Land of the Vikings. Next up on the docket is the Defense Update, coming in the next few months. With this update, your village will be open to attacks from the outside, so it is up to you to organize a proper defense by placing walls and decorations to deter attackers.
At the same time, there will be changes in the happiness system with the Defense Update. As the population grows, villagers will be more restless, and you will need to indulge them with drinks in the taverns (working Tavern confirmed!) to keep them happy.
The most requested feature, automatic worker assignment, will also come with this update.
After the Defense Update, we have plans for multiple major updates. Take a look at our roadmap below! (Click for the full resolution)
We'll be back with more news as we get closer to the other updates, but we'll give you a little spoiler for now. The first upcoming major update will include Steam Workshop support and a building editor that allows you to create and share your very own buildings!
Thank you again for your support, and we'll see you in the next blog.
Skål
