Today creative director Eva Jobse will share some details on how to build out your character as you gain experience and levels.
Masteries and Levels
Characters in Cygnus Enterprises have ten masteries which each accrue experience points and level up through use. In combat, using specific weapons will increase their corresponding mastery, which will in turn further increase damage output. When in the base, harvesting or crafting items will increase masteries as well.
When the player’s character has accumulated a certain number of mastery levels they will gain a character level. This allows the player to spend class attribute points and pick new skills associated with that class.
Classes and Attributes
Cygnus Enterprises has six character classes: Security, Pilot, Medic, Engineer, Socializer and Scientist, each with a corresponding attribute and skill tree. Raising an attribute gives a passive boost to secondary stats and increases the effectiveness of the associated skills, as well as allowing the player to use class-specific weapons and items that have attribute requirements.
Customizing your Character Build
Players are free to spend their attribute points the in any way they want and can mix and match skills from all the different classes, provided that they meet the attribute level requirements. Dual-classing or triple-classing is encouraged.
Should players become dissatisfied with their character’s skill and attribute distribution, the game allows the player to respec their character in the Cloning Facility.
