Good news, everyone! It’s been a while, and I have something exciting to share with you all—
"The Righteousness: SanGuo" is now available for Early Access!

Those who follow me may know that I am not a professional game developer, but someone who, driven by a love for games, learned Unreal Engine and worked on development while designing characters with my 61-year-old father. After nearly five years of part-time development, we’ve finally reached this moment, and today TThe Righteousness: SanGuo is officially available for Early Access!
Many players may have concerns about "Early Access," fearing unstable developer mindsets or the project being abandoned halfway. I completely understand these worries, but after careful consideration, I decided to go ahead with this approach.
About the mindset
I am not a professional game developer and don't have the "do or die" pressure; the sales of the game will not determine my survival. But this is exactly why I can approach it with a calmer mindset. I believe this freedom from market pressures will allow me to create something that is more true to my original vision.
I love games and am also just an ordinary player who sometimes wants to lie down and do nothing all afternoon. At the same time, I want to create the kind of game I enjoy, whether or not it’s a popular trend in the market. (When we first started development, Metroidvania-style games weren’t as popular as they are now, and I’m grateful for the many great predecessors who have revived this genre.) Indie games should be independent in nature—first, please yourself, then share with like-minded players. This is the balance and joy I seek.

About giving up halfway
From the very beginning, this game has been more than just a development project for me; it’s a personal commitment as a player. As a player, I want to create a game I truly love. If others like it too, that’s even better. But no matter what, I will be responsible for my work. After all, if I don’t like it, how can I expect others to?
My father and I have come a long way from initial hand-drawn sketches to a game that runs smoothly today. The process has been long, but it’s filled with satisfaction and joy. If more people can join in this joy and maybe even let me earn a little extra income, I’d be thrilled. This creation has lasted five years with no capital investment or commercialization pressure. I cherish my work and want to refine The Righteousness: SanGuo into something better and more complete. So, I won’t give up easily or let my efforts go to waste.

This is the confidence behind my choice to release Early Access.
About the game
Set against the backdrop of the Three Kingdoms, players will take on the role of an amnesiac assassin, meeting historical figures from the era and weaving a unique story.

The core gameplay draws inspiration from Metroidvania, offering rich, explorable environments, carefully designed enemies and boss battles, and a variety of skills to help you triumph. The game also provides a decent challenge, hoping players will find their own rhythm in the combat.

In terms of art style, we aimed to provide a unique visual experience. I combined textbook illustrations from the 90s with the style of traditional Chinese comic books, leading the color palette design, attempting to recapture the feeling of scribbling in old textbooks (I’m sure many people from the 90s can relate). Character design was led by my father, as he was most familiar with the comic book style during his youth. We combined our respective experiences to craft a distinctive artistic style.
Although this is the Early Access version, about 70% of the main storyline is complete. While refining the main content, I plan to add side stories and more map exploration to further enrich the game.
About the price
After careful consideration, the Early Access version will be priced at ¥26.
I hope this price will allow more players to experience our labor of love, while also providing support for further development. As the game content expands and optimizes, the price may adjust in the future. But in any case, I am truly grateful for the players who support us.
Lastly
This is the current state of The Righteousness: SanGuo. I hope you all can offer valuable feedback, and I will do my best to improve it, making it a truly worthy indie game.
