Another week gone and more progress made.
I've been working fairly solidly on the remake of the nightclub scene in Chapter 2 the past week. This is by far the most complicated rewrite scene of Chapter 2.
Why? Because originally there were a handful of 'videos' that I created to give off the effect of being in a night club. That included strobe lighting and fog. Creating these took several hours per image which was unsustainable and meant the quality had to be lowered and the scene was shorter than we would've liked. Due to this I opted to completely recreate this scene from scratch. Now I am fully utilising the power of the Renpy engine to dynamically create the strobe lighting and fog on top of a single rendered high quality image. The results are much better in terms of quality and it means I can create LOTS more renders to properly fill out this scene.
So far in this scene We have around 120 new images, and I'm barely half way through.
To add to the complexity of this scene, there are 7 active characters in this scene and 10 fully created background characters. Creating and posing this level of detail takes a while but it will be totally worth it in the end.
Oh, we are also adding some pretty cool lewd content to this scene too so watch out for that!
In terms of overall chapter 2 rewrite progress, I'd estimate it at between 80-85% complete. Again though, don't forget that's just chapter 2...we need to complete the Chapter 3 rewrite also before we can launch the newest version.
