Closed Alpha Week 1 Recap
Thank you to everyone who jumped into the first days of our Closed Alpha! Over these initial days, we’ve focused on testing our backend infrastructure, monitoring performance, and gathering your early feedback. We also rolled out our first update, aimed at improving overall stability and addressing key bugs. Now, we’ll be expanding the Closed Alpha by inviting players from Europe!
Welcome, Europe!
The Closed Alpha was originally limited to North America, but with strong interest from European players, we’re expanding to gather early feedback from that region as well. As with our initial launch, we’ll start small - limiting invites while we monitor performance, latency, feedback, and overall game experience before expanding further. European players will be routed to our US East servers during the Closed Alpha. We have been monitoring current European players within the Closed Alpha, and while not optimal, the latency to our servers is consistently within the acceptable range for matchmaking. To help reduce the impact of this increased ping, we are going to focus on sending invites out to areas with lower average latency. Dedicated European servers will come in future tests, but won’t be available during the Closed Alpha. Please note that only English localization is supported at this stage. It’s important to remember that the Closed Alpha is not a demo for a game about to be released - it is the first step in a long term roadmap for creating March of Giants. You may encounter bugs, rough balance, and unpredictable gameplay moments. All of this is vital to helping us shape development through your feedback. This Alpha represents just a portion of the content planned for full release.
