The issues of today's world are worth pondering. When I consider everything happening around us, it doesn’t exactly fill me with joy. Whether it’s global events or the gaming and entertainment industry. Bukkaku is currently far from completion. I keep wondering if such a complex and problematic development process will ever see the light of day in a form that I would be satisfied with. It’s a challenging project—everything is meticulously hand-drawn and created (take that, fuck AI, my friend), and it stands out artistically. I’m considering the unpopular idea of financial support through a crowdfunding campaign. Will it work? Is there even interest in this type of “different” games? What is the financial threshold or injection required just for visibility? Artistic experimental games no longer have the same boom or interest as they once did. Unfortunately, today there is less and less space for these more unique and personal projects.
Bukkaku and Ynccuth were never primarily intended as a means of getting rich or making a profit but rather as a form of entertainment and a way to channel my inner creative thoughts. I am also focusing my energy and time on my second dream project—the animated film Ynccuth. Is this the right path? Should I also seek financial support from like-minded individuals? Is there even an interest in an animated film that defies mainstream standards? Will it boost both projects or bury them for good? Ynccuth is a far more personal project. Its atmospheric and emotional core should capture the essence of the film.
That’s all from my inner battle with the future of the game Bukkaku and the film Ynccuth. Of course, I would appreciate any media mentions.
