It was a lot more challenging than I'd ever imagined, but I've finally resolved the AMD rendering issues. To maintain my sanity while troubleshooting, I've also implemented a range of enhancements and feature requests, such as:
- Greyscale heightmaps now exported alongside the other maps
- Rotate the sun around the planet while holding the right mouse button
- Zoom in/out with the mouse wheel
- Added lens flare and bloom for sun in globe view
- Adjusted rainfall to give more realistic biome distributions
- Several performance improvements
A few of the items coming in the next update:
- A new tectonics model for more realistic continents and islands
- Climate cycles (on the order of several thousand years)
- Swapping over to the Koppen biome model
- Move the mouse over the planet surface to see a breakdown of stats at that point, like elevation, temperature, rainfall, biome classification, wind direction, etc.
If you've been unable to use Rock 3 due to the AMD rendering issue, I appreciate your patience and I hope it was worth the wait!
