Those first deployments changed us.
We began to understand what freedom would cost.
Warclones fell. Disappeared beyond sight forever.
We lost so many.
But the ones we now call The Lords of Avalon rose up.
We moved without orders.
Chose our own targets.
Conspired with allies forced into hiding.
We would need all of them.
We sought the Warclone called Meliandryn.
He had survived in the shadows
Waiting. Plotting.
Now, we would supply him with the means to complete his life’s work.
The Resonant Garden.
We took what we needed and concealed what we could.
I liberated the Warbarge we now call Avalon.
Our connection to the Garden
We hid it far beyond the reach of the Deathless.
And Meliandryn built his masterpiece.
The Garden was forbidden technology.
A violation of laws older than the empires themselves.
A place where the mind could persist beyond the body.
Not transferred. Not copied. Sustained.
Avalon became its foundation.
A vessel through which the warclones could endure beyond death and beyond the control of the Fulcrum.
But survival was not enough.
Avalon could shelter us.
The Garden could preserve us.
We still lacked freedom. We were still shackled to the Fulcrum.
We needed a way to move without permission.
To strike where we chose and return with the spoils.
That was when we discovered the something hidden in plain sight.
Our gateway from the Fulcrum. A bridge to our destiny.
