For the weak, immortality offers little advantage. Darkness was closing around the warclones. Our destiny was in ruins. We would live long enough to see ourselves forgotten.
I could claim I believed we would be given another chance. That would be untrue. We were lost. But in New Eden, survival does not go unnoticed. And we had survived.
The Deathless found our data banks. They reached inside and recovered minds they believed would help them spread their chaos. They did not understand what they had awakened. Thanatos assassins. Khanid warriors. Warlords. They released those we now call the Lords of Avalon.
These are minds incapable of servitude. Drawn from Amarrian traditions, selected for discipline. For faith. They did not accept the system imposed upon them. They studied it. Tested it. Searched for its edges.
We found a way out. A way to deploy without oversight. But there was a cost. Death, when it came, was final. We used it anyway.
