Dear earthlings,
It's been some time since I have done one of these, so let's do one again. I can show you some development progress!
Pricing
I had a discord community member complaining about the current pricing, which I totally understand. So for the sake of clarity, openness and understanding, I will explain why the pricing is the way it is. There is actually more thought behind it than it might first appear. The main reason why the pricing is at 17,99 USD at the moment is because this is how players can support me financially. I have a wife and a little daughter to take care of. Being a full-time game developer is a long-cherished dream of mine. I am nowhere near this goal at the moment, but every sale is very much appreciated, this way I have more time to spent on actual developing the game and not on working my other full-time job to make ends meet. So from a single sale (17.99 USD) I personally get around 6.36 EUR. The calculation is as follows. Starting at 17,99 USD I pay 45% V.A.T which is mandatory in the country where I am from. From the 9.89 USD that is left, Steam takes 30%. So I will get 6.92 USD, with the current exchange rate will result in 6.36 EUR.
So, do I think the game in its current state if worth 17,99 USD? I can simply answer that by saying no. The game is currently Early Access, meaning it is far away from being done. Some features are subject to change, will change, will be enhanced or will be deleted entirely. There are still plenty of bugs to squeeze and so forth. So for those who say, this is way too much for me, I don't want to spend this amount of money on the game, I can totally understand and I appreciate your honesty. For those people I have come up with a solution though. As some of you might already know every time when I update the game I do a week long 50% off sale, yes every major update I drop will have a 50% sale. This way, you can buy the game for what it is actually worth. In the meantime, you could wishlist the game until such a sale happens. I do hope this clear things up a bit and I hope you'll understand, if not, that is okay too. Would like to hear your take on this.
For those who did pay 17.99 USD, I want to say that I really appreciate you helping me out. I do really appreciate you believing in the game. Furthermore, I can say that I will do everything in my power to make the game be worth much more than 17,99 USD. The future ahead is very bright, the game get better and better. Step by step, update by update. I won't be anywhere without your much-needed input. So, if you want things to change or want features to be or look different. Please let me know! Thank you.
Development
Things are looking great. Spaceship flight is working 100% and is done. Building and placing down objects is working. The only thing left to do is making the new enemy AI, which at its core is already done. I can give a better and precise estimate when this new update will drop. If everything is going according to plan and nothing gets in my way, the update will drop in the first half of July. If anything happens in the meantime, ill let you know.
