Hey all! Game Dev Arcade is now updated to v.0.1.5! This update focuses on adding some new features to "Mars Madness". Read below for a list of patch notes!
I also made a video highlighting the biggest changes:
NEW FEATURES:
Steam Integration
- You can now view the Steam Community tab while in game (default Shift+Tab)
- 30 Steam Achievements have been added! Progress through all the Unlock Tiers in Mars Madness to collect them all!
BOSSES
- Every 5 waves, a boss will spawn along with the normal aliens!
- Each increment of 5 adds 1 more boss spawn
- They have much more health and deal a lot of damage. Be careful around them!
Unlock Tier Changes
- Unlocks are now based off of your TOTAL stats (it used to be the furthest you got on a single run).
- Requirements have been bumped up to account for this
Sprinting Rework
- Sprinting has an added benefit - it gives phasing!
- This means you can pass through enemies while you are Sprinting
- No more getting trapped in corners by aliens!
Detailed list of patch notes further below.
Thank you so much for playing! This is my first game dev project, and the first game I've shipped. I'm excited to continue to improve it by adding more games that will come out (hopefully) more polished now that I'm getting a lot more experience developing.
Next patch will be v.0.2.0 where I will introduce the second game to the collection: Crystal Corridors!
If you'd like a sneak peak for how that game was made (in it's current beta state) you can watch the YouTube playlist here: Crystal Corridors YouTube Playlist.
It will be receiving a facelift and more levels before making its way to GDA ːsteamhappyː
