Hello everyone,
The Rogue Mansion Closed Beta begins today! Those who signed up will be receiving keys/access details via email, and can now step inside the mansion. This beta is designed to showcase the core gameplay loop of the final game, giving players an early look at what Rogue Mansion is building toward.
This beta includes a substantial portion of content that can be expected from the full game (details below); while the full release will include more content, more characters, and greater replayability, this beta is meant to capture the heart of the experience.
We’d especially love to hear your thoughts on balance, run structure and length, and elements such as weapons, charms, puzzles, and bosses. Even if you don't complete a full run, your feedback will still be incredibly valuable to the team!
All input is valuable to us, and we’d especially like to hear your thoughts on the balance, difficulty, the structure and length of the runs, as well as the weapons, charms, puzzles, enemy variety and bosses.
We’d like to note that what you’ll be playing reflects the core gameplay loop intended for the final game. You can expect essentially the same experience, but with more content and improved replayability - so it’s very important to us to know and understand your thoughts on the beta, so we can use your feedback to shape the finished product!
In this closed beta, the following content / out of a total from the game is included:
Areas: 3 / 4
Rooms: 70 / 130 (each run features around 40 rooms)
Puzzles: 10 / 19 (in the beta, the outdoors area only has 1 puzzle)
Enemies: 10 / 10
Sub-bosses: 1 / 4 (one per area in the full game)
Final bosses: one per character
Characters: 1 / 4
Weapons: 21 / 27
Charms: 16 / 25
Costumes: 2 / 10 (at least 2 per character)
Game modes: 2 / 4
If you’d still like to join the closed beta after it's started, or simply would like to discuss the game in general, we strongly encourage you to join the Top Hat Studios Discord! The developers at Almenara Games will be there during the test to answer questions, investigate issues, and hear your feedback directly.
