I was able to run a very limited beta test with just a few players. Thanks to their efforts, and the fact that they recorded their play sessions (something I never realized the value of until recently) I was able to fix all the following issues:
- Missing sounds during some dialogues
- Missing sounds on taking/placing items
- Destroyed items are now removed from map
- Fixed strange area on desert island where player could get stuck
- Monsters now pause when player is in dialogue, map, inventory or menu.
- Fixed character location when switching levels on boat
- Fixed weird bug when accidentally placing club in treasure chest (this was a strange one and I am surprised someone did this 🙂
- Fixed strange bug where treasure chest was not interacting (related to the above issue)
- Reduced/randomized number of scorpions/spiders on island and dungeons
- Map will reset when starting new game after previously loaded game
- Club is now a quest item and cannot be dropped or sold. If player dropped or sold all weapons and money they would essentially be locked out of play, so the club will have to remain in inventory until a better solution is found.
I plan to continue updating the game, and maybe doing another play-test at some point in the near future. If you are interested, reach out on the Discord server: https://discord.gg/zxzaRPvcbw
