UPDATE 28th August 2025:
Apologies all, we've come across some issues in porting our shaders into the new version. We're trying to resolve this before we go live. We'll let you all know when it's good & ready!
Thanks again for your patience and apologies,
Sam
UPDATE 20th August 2025:
Hi everyone,
An update with a fix for Twitch Mode will be released on 27th August. There's a lot of testing to do with King of the Castle and we want to be confident in the quality of the update before we release it. Apologies that there will be a little more of a wait.
In addition to fixing Twitch Mode, the update will include over 100 fixes to events in the game, including around 10 potential soft-locks.
Thanks again for your patience!
Owen
ORIGINAL POST:
Hi all,
High speed update here to let you that Twitch Mode is going to be out of operation for some time.
This is due to an update made by Twitch, who decommissioned non-secure WebSocket connections to Twitch IRC servers over the weekend. If you're interested, you can read more about it here.
We were using an older WebSocket connection to connect to Twitch IRC which sadly has been hit by this change.
We're working on this updating King of the Castle so it'll work with the new system but that may take some time. Please bear with us!
Our Party Games are unaffected by this change - If you wanted to play in Twitch Mode, we suggest hosting a Party Game and sharing the code with your viewers.
We'll update this post when Twitch Mode is up and running again.
