Heyho!
This major update features the "second half" of the Roland content. Let's take a look at what's new.
1) New Roland events that impact Victory Ending B
While the previous one focused on a new bad ending, this one continues his event line in the regular story. To trigger it you need to betray Lorraine in Nothing but the Truth. The events also involve the former Knight-Commander and eventually lead to a new corrupt variation of the Victory Ending.
2) General Art Additions
New Hair Style: Twin Tails for Earth Aura. While you could already unlock this one for limited occasions in Roya, you now have an alternate option to the Side Tail mental change - provided you unlocked Twin Tails or Twin Drills at some point in the Roya story line.
You can also find a new illustration of Alicia on a magazine cover in the Aura Reading events.
3) Quality of Life Improvements
On the final section, Thanks to our assistant developer Trihan, we also have a couple of technical quality of life improvements. The three main ones to name here:
An ingame wiki that can be found in the Compendium. It records all afflicted states, seen tutorial messages, and also comes with a general section on mechanical explanations so you can easier find your way into the game, especially when coming back to it after a hiatus.
A "Skip Unseen Text" option that when toggled off will turn off skipping when reading a new block of text you have not encountered in any playthrough. Very useful when you are on NG+ and only want to read new texts.
A set of "Special Effects" options that allow you to turn off various effects such as screenshakes, flashes, etc. Also mostly intended for NG+ so when you are skipping through all the text with the associated effects, you don't go blind from the effects. :'D
Besides that, most other polish work is more in the background this time around. Trihan checked out performance hotspots and worked down to eliminate them one-by-one. For translators we have a new mod that we deploy by default the "translation-tools" mod. It allows translators to translate a lot of texts in-game. We also worked quite a bit on cutting down technical debt and copy&paste to reduce the translation efforts on repeated strings.
I have also performed the last price increase with this update - it's a bit larger one, but I decided not to spread it out over multiple increases. On the bright side this means that I'm not constantly blocked from participating in sales in the future due to the price changes.
