For the first milestone of Early Access, tentatively titled "It's Under Control", I am reworking the in-game ability HUD. Originally this was a series of on-screen buttons for the touchscreen version of the game, but now I have reworked it as a proper PC game interface.
I've brought the bloom into the UI layer, and the icons are now much closer to their intended feel of being vehicular indicator lights. Now whenever an ability is activated, its icons will glow brightly before fading back to normal.
The control glyphs will also change as you switch back and forth between keyboard and gamepad.
There are a few loose ends to tie up, like hiding undiscovered abilities. Once that is done, I will release this version to a new "Experimental" track.
My intent is to release frequently to the "Experimental" track, which may be more unstable than the "Stable" track. With the completion of each milestone, I will roll up the changes in the "Experimental" track to the "Stable" track (names subject to change).
The next feature I will be working on is remapping of controls. I've got a couple of good suggestions for improved keyboard control layouts, so I will be incorporating those as defaults and/or presets.
