Balance Rollback to Playtest Version
Hello everyone, we are rolling the game's progression back to the state it was in during the playtest.
Summary of Changes / Patch Notes:
Progression Rollback: The core progression speed and economy have been rolled back to the Playtest version.
Reason for Change: The Early Access progression felt less rewarding and artificially slow.
Detailed Changes:
Lichsilver Rewards:
Random Encounters now yield significantly more Lichsilver (as they did in the playtest).
Quests no longer grant Lichsilver but more items. They were creating a feeling of being forced to complete them.
Quest Design:
Quests should feel now completely optional.
They now only reward items
Co-op / Solo Queue:
This mode once again provides full progression rewards.
Players can now progress just as quickly by playing only this mode, matching the playtest experience.
Added most demanded features:
Reset Skill points:
Seraphine can now reset skill points for a fee
Exiting Encounters by accident:
We have fixed an issue where players could leave the area without using the "Exit" button during encounters. Also the keybinding has changed.
Additional changes / bug fixes:
Added gaining 2 rewards from standard quests
Added localization for new reset skill points text
Changed talent searing light to scale with faith and strength
Fixed gaining rating in pvp arena not working correctly
The door of the mission building has been modified so that it always remains open
Text version:
We are rolling the game's progression back to the state it was in during the playtest. For the playtest, we had intentionally set the progression rate much higher than originally planned to allow for thorough testing of the skill trees. However, the current progression feels less rewarding and artificially drawn out.
The original playtest featured no traditional quests (aside from contracts), and random encounters provided a generous amount of Lichsilver. This meant you could progress smoothly while playing exactly how you liked. In the current version, however, Lichsilver is primarily locked behind quests, forcing a specific playstyle. We’ve realized this design is restrictive and takes away player agency. As a result, we're reverting the Lichsilver economy back to the playtest model. Quests will stay in the game, but as purely optional content that rewards items.
Co-op/Solo Queue: This mode will once again provide rewards just as it did during the playtest, allowing you to simply play this mode and progress just as quickly as before.
Thank you for playing,
Duel Corp Team
