Ahoy pilots!
Slowly but surely, things are getting serious: Today is Saturday, December 3, and that means the release of Swordship is only 2 days away! On the one hand, we can't wait to see you play our fast paced dodge’em up, but on the other hand, we're nervous as hell about it...
Ha ha, but I'm sure every developer knows these feelings from releasing a game. ːsteamhappyː
But that's not exactly what I wanted to tell you about. I wanted to tell you about what actually a "dodge'em up" is. Our dodge'em up flips the script on the traditional arcade shooter. You have no weapons. You have to turn the enemies on themselves by dodging, weaving and diving. You are the pilot of one of the namesake ships, and it's your task to collect containers and deliver them. Sounds simple, doesn't it?
But nope, we won't make it that easy for you. And in order not to die the permanent roguelike death (again and again and again), you need tactics and sharp reflexes! Sounds interesting to you? Then you should definitely try out our Swordship demo here on Steam.
Additionally, I have summarised for you what to expect from Swordship once we blast off on December 5:
- 3 Cities that will challenge your positioning skills
- 6 Swordship variants so you can find your own playstyle
- 18 upgrades to build your loadout for each run
- 16 different enemies types mixed in every possible ways to make every run different
- 3 difficulty levels to ease you progressively into the game
- 3 weather conditions to spice up each level
- 0 weapons!
- Full keyboard and controller support
- 10-12 hours to unlock everything
- And a lot more to be the first on the leaderboard
That's it for now, friends. Have a relaxing rest of the weekend, and see you all in Swordship next Tuesday!
