The most noticeable part when driving a train is movement physics. Our programmers re-worked this system for Metro Simulator 2.
Now, when movement physics system has several parts which execute after each other, we can see that the train moves correctly.
Imagine water which is travelling through a multi-layer filter. The same happens with acceleration and speed. We needed to pass them through different "filters" such as slope angle, engine power, manual controller state (for Oka train), applied traction force (for Russia train), state of rheostat controller (for older Soviet train) etc. As a result, we get a very realistic train behavior model.
We're almost done re-working this system's scripts for Oka train. Also, we tested it on the new line. We'd like to mention that besides graphical part we improved optimization and improved train imitation on far distances.
