Creating the universe of Thalassa and approaching harder-to-digest topics with delicacy has been the biggest mission of Sarepta Studio for the past 6 years. Game Designer Catharina Boehler gives glimpses of how life on Thalassa came to be, the merging of history, loss and beauty of nature in this mysterious exploration game.
Art of Thalassa represents the deep sea's beauty, tranquility, and mystery, as vast as what our inner worlds may look like. In the second episode of our MiniDoc series our Art Director Kjartan Forthun and Game Designer Catharina Boehler share the main goals and challenges of the artistic journey of Thalassa.
What makes the world of Thalassa different? Well, it is a representation of the beauty of all things unknown. Perhaps, the deep ocean is not a scary place but somewhere you can find reflections of everything you once loved - just like our inner worlds.
We are happy to announce the mini-documentary series and the artbook and deluxe edition release of Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss!
