Hello everyone!
We are so glad to have so many new people discovering Green Hell VR and supporting us. This will be our first piece of news on the Steam page and we are writing it to give you more information on what Green Hell VR really is.
First and foremost, Green Hell VR is NOT a simple port of Green Hell or mod for Green Hell to include VR. It is a separate game. Even though it may seem like Green Hell VR looks and plays the same as the flat version, the game has many changes made to provide better integration with the VR systems.
Green Hell VR distinct features are, for example :
Interactive world:
- the world is much more interactive as you can pick up and inspect nearly every object in the game
- collecting food and resources by collecting them with your hands manually or by cutting them down
- more immersive storytelling with interactive elements with integrated VR functionality like walkie-talkie and audio logs
- making use of the VR controllers to physically swing your knife and cut down trees to collect wood
Items:
- items in hand have proper physics and collisions with the world, allowing for new interactions and harvesting options
- managing items is now easier as you can use both hands to pick up items and physically use the backpack to store items
- intuitive crafting system (physically put the ingredients on the crafting bench to create a new item)
Player body:
- full body physics, with immersive limbs inspection, manual dressing wounds and picking leeches
- immersive swimming with the use of full-body moves
- manually climbing ropes with your hands
Fighting:
- immersive bow mechanics
- intuitive battle system with multiple weapons
- VR functionality as throwing rocks, machetes, etc.
We cannot give any details yet. However, we can assure you that you won't be buying another version, but a different game whatsoever. In a matter of weeks, we will be uploading a new video comparison of the flat and VR version so players can see what to expect from this game.
