Hello everyone!
A quick update regarding week 2 of activities - I've booked some time off work so this allowed me to focus on the game a little more.
New Additions;
- I've refactored the core of the code to optimise the game and improve the quality of code (I kind of just threw everything together to get a MVP)
- I've added a couple new buildings which I think have greatly improved the look of the game and the actual world itself, have a look below. Update:
- Fully Configured Commercial Buildings
- I've started work on the new comfort mechanic of the game (read below)
- I've started playing around with the road system but there is still much to do (also read below)

There's something that I've been considering though, I want a 50/50 split between comfort and regular buildings, I want the worlds to be beautiful; Greenery, Parks, all that sort. But, with the way the game currently stands, comfort objects are cheap and only increase your click amount but I want it to do something more, something that will entice the player to get the comfort objects, this is more a problem late game rather than early game, worth a think.
UP: 05/10/2021 -> I think I've figured out the above. The buildings placed lower the comfort amount, if the comfort amount is too low then the amount you generate is reduced to half the amount. I was going to say game over but I think that's too harsh (I might rethink this to increase the challenge aspect of the game <-- But then is it really an idle clicker?).
I've also had another "brilliant idea"... Roads... If the player connects a road from a residential building to a commercial building, then the commercial building will generate more and I'll probably have some fancy animations where there are teeny little cars going from one building to the others.
All of this is just hypothetical at the moment and more of a "might be implemented" but I think it's pretty cool so, who knows!
UP: 08/10/2021 -> Slow couple days due to work commitments but, I've started working on the road system and the comfort mechanic; still a long way to go but I must say, this has definitely improved the playability of the game.
That's all for this weeks dev blog - Apologies its not much in the way of new functionality and glorious screen shots but hoping next week there will some more flashy stuff to show!
