The Road to 1.0
Progress against Summer 2025 Backlog
We tackled a number of the items that were at the top of the list when we compiled the backlog one year ago.

Most Notably...
Crash Fixes
We've fixed 20+ over the last year. Including a few that affected 500+ yir saves!
Performance & Memory
Multiple improvements have dropped here, and more are on the way.

1.0 Roadmap
Here's the updated Roadmap that'll get us to 1.0.

Notable Additions...
Hauling Efficiency
We've reworked Hauling in 1.0 to improve efficiency. More details coming as we get closer to release, but the early results are very promising.
Prop Improvement QOL
Rebuilding Props for better Quality and Prestige at the risk of loss is not great gameplay.
So we've uh... Rebuilt it.. 1.0 includes the ability to Improve Props - guaranteeing that they won't get worse even if they don't get better.
Leveling QOL
We're reworking Ability Selection to remove RNG and to prove choices tailored to each Mortal that can be influenced.
Oh! And...

Uh... Well... I guess we can't talk about those yet... Stay tuned!
Early Access Content Promises
We're set to deliver on our Early Access Content Promises with 2 small exceptions.

First, we're foregoing the introduction of multiple new Monster Species to focus our efforts on depth with the Demons and Kin. We prefer depth to quantity, so we think this is a solid trade to make.
Second, instead of offering a third Starting Scenario, we're putting effort into refining the Heavy is the Crown experience and expanding the breadth of the Choose your Fate Experience for 1.0. Again, we're choosing to focus on depth at the cost of breadth here - we think it's the right call.
We've either already checked all the other boxes or are on track to do so for 1.0.
There are also some very exciting unpromised Content and Features that land as part of 1.0 that we can't wait to talk about.
Post 1.0
We have some plans for what we'd like to tackle post 1.0.
How far we go together is up to you!
Summer 2025 Update!
Let's take a moment to update the Roadmap and cross off a few boxes!
These days, there are 3 types of updates for Noble Fates - Hotfix Updates that address bugs and issues (including those that are listed on the Backlog and those that you Report in-game); Minor Updates that focus on reworking or expanding existing systems and filling them with additional content; and Feature Updates that add new features to the game expanding the overall breadth of what the game has to offer.
NOTE: We've replaced Content Updates with Minor Updates to better encompass the work that is being done to rework and expand on existing Systems during the march to 1.0.

A number of systems have gotten a second pass and that will continue as we move through the remainder of Early Access.

Current Priorities

Localization has climbed the list and is under way now. It's a complicated task for a game with so much procedural text, but we're hard at work on it. It will likely land between Feature Update #5 and Feature Update #6.
Beyond that, there are a number of systems and interfaces that could use their second pass to streamline and improve the player's experience, so those are starting to become important to us.
Content Updates

Feature Update #5
Feature Update #5 is well underway, recently crossing the half way point of development. As with The Adventure Update, we're taking on and tackling deeper changes to the game to expand on the mid-game. Stay tuned for details!
Early Access Status
We're more than half way through what we set out to accomplish with Early Access. We're tracking behind our original schedule - due primarily to increasing breadth and quality of our Feature Updates - but we have been successful enough that we have plenty of runway to reach 1.0.
Thank you so much for your support and patience!

Original
Cheers Kontras - we wanted to take a brief moment to loop you into our process and plans for Noble Fates.
To start, we think it’s important to call out the features that are present at launch. Everything present in the trailer is in the game, playable end-to-end and you can expect a solid 20-30 hours before replayability.

There are several kinds of updates we’re working on for Noble Fates:
First, we have Hotfixes - these contain bug, crash, quality of life, and balance fixes. You can expect anywhere from multiple of these per day (as we’ve been doing) to one every few weeks or so (once initial balance and bugs are sorted).

Next, we have Content Updates - these will be new content for the existing systems. We’re already working on the first several of these, and plan to release them as soon as they’re ready. These will be piecemeal (Bronze Hammers, Wooden Hammers, Crossbows, etc.). You can expect these anywhere from once a week to one every few weeks. We’re also planning seasonal content and it will land as part of these.

Then, we have Feature Updates - these will introduce big new features - pulling the game in a new and exciting direction. These will be sizable enough that they’ll warrant a fresh, new playthrough of the game. These will be designated as bumps to the major version number of the game and are likely to break save compatibility. You can expect one of these every 6-8 weeks and expect them to be comparable in size and scope to the Breach/Carbuncle/Mage moment from the game (developed over 4-6 weeks before launch). These will be announced several weeks before they launch, and we’ll have an experimental branch where people can help us tune them before they go live. A minimum of 8 of these will be included in Early Access. Any that we don’t choose could still see the light of day as part of some future expansion.

We’d like to maintain maximum agility with these - so we’ll choose the one that adds the most to the game at the beginning of each feature cycle. We aren’t committing to a specific set, but we are sharing the ones we’re excited about. We’d like to hear from you which ones you’d like and we’ll factor that into our process - even if they aren’t listed!
Finally, we have Steam Features - new high level features like Steam Workshop support and localization will be looped into the next feature update that is coming down the pipe when they are ready. 1.0 will have full Steam Workshop support, Localization, Achievements, Cloud Saves, and more.
To circle around, when we reach 1.0 (within 18 months), all Current Features, In-progress Hotfixes, Content Updates, a minimum of 8 Feature Updates, and Steam Features above will all be finished and included.
Everyone’s feedback has been fantastic so far. We’ll continue to listen, balance, fix, and adjust. Thanks so much for playing, and keep the feedback coming!
Thanks,
The Noble Fates Team
