Hello Pilots and Commanders!
It took a bit longer than we expected (as usual), but the Development Branch has just been launched.
Feel free to try it out and take a first look at the upcoming features and changes for Space Reign. Your feedback and suggestions are very welcome as we continue working on these new mechanics and systems.
How to switch between development and live version
You can easily opt in/out of the devbranch by accessing Space Reign Properties in your Steam library and selecting the "Betas" tab. Then all you have to do is select the devbranch build and the game will be automatically updated to this version.
You can only have one version of the game running at the same time, so don't forget to switch back to the live version for the current experience.
You will NOT lose any progress on the live version of the game by playing on the devbranch, since all progress mechanics have been turned off there.
What are we testing
From now on, the development branch will receive all major features and upcoming changes in advance, allowing us to gather as much feedback as possible before releasing it on the live version. We are now gathering feedback for these two major systems:
Large Ship Direct Control
Conquest Sector
Since we would like you to specifically test these 2 systems, sector map along with fleet management and other game modes have been disabled for this version - devbranch will be constantly updated according to what feedback we need to focus on.
Features in the development branch are always a work-in-progress, so expect much more issues and bugs, frequent changes, as well as unfinished assets - like missing animations and some audiovisuals.
Where to report bugs and post feedback
You have 2 options to do this:
Steam Community Hub - Devbranch Forum
Discord - Devbranch forum channel
Each report and suggestion is highly appreciated and helps Space Reign to become a more enjoyable Space-sim/RTS experience! ːsteamhappyː
Good Hunting!
