Last time, we introduced you to The Kid and Everett, aka the protagonist and his mentor.
Today we dive into the backgrounds of the game's antagonist, Leo, and her right-hand woman, Lise.
Strong and Serious
She is a former friend of Everett and the current leader of the ZENITH, the team that's out to capture Everett, and whose charged with maintaining order in the multiverse.
With the increasing appearance of interferences (objects which phase between universes), her work became more of a surveillance operation, rather than an investigation into Everett's whereabouts.
Everett's reappearance throws a spanner in her works. Upon seeing his irresponsible universe traversal and his obsession with his old assistant's supposed investigation, she decided capturing him would once again become her priority, in order to save him from insanity.
She takes good care of her team and those around her and tries to maintain her composure at all times. This, unfortunately, leads to her collapsing from time to time. She takes those close to her as her responsibility and insists on Everett's capture more out of concern than duty.
Bad but Good?
Lise is good-natured, nervous, and has low self-esteem. She's always being overshadowed due to her shyness.
She is Leo's right-hand woman and Nash's rival, even if she has the best of intentions. She adopted a great admiration for Nash's confidence that led her to form a toxic friendship with him, even though he couldn't see her as anything other than the competition.
Although Lise does not believe in herself, Leo knows how capable she is and that is why she almost always has her by his side. As a result, she is constantly insulted by a jealous Nash, who is irritated by her not daring to impose herself and for her insisting on seeing his good side, however difficult he may be. She gets along well with the rest of the team and is the one who likes the leading duo the most.
She doesn't care so much about capturing the lead duo as much as simply being helpful, to Leo and the team.
