Major Changes
Home has been removed and replaced with a streamlined Main Menu. While the Home experiment was fun, it moved away from Droned’s core goal: fast, drop-in drop-out gameplay. The new flow gets you into matches faster.
AI Controllers have been removed. They were interesting from a development perspective and fun to see how they impact drones decisions, but added complexity that did not fit the game’s identity for most players.
Trials have been fully reworked into one unified challenge with difficulty tiers. Instead of multiple disconnected modes, you now get a single focused challenge that scales in difficulty on each run.
Balancing Changes
Player base health increased from 100 to 200.
Encounters now feel more tactful, with better room for decisions and counterplay.
Additional minor balance passes and gameplay improvements have been applied across combat flow and pacing.
Minor Changes
Overhauled multiple UI and HUD elements for a cleaner experience.
Remastered several skill effects, with a focus on cast effects.
Quantum Credits are no longer distributed via Steam drops and are now earned entirely in-game.
Steam drops are now reserved for exclusive drones only.
General bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
Thanks for playing Droned. As always, let me know what you think.
