We’re excited to open a new beta branch introducing a Direct3D 11 (D3D11) renderer, while still keeping the classic Direct3D 9 (D3D9) renderer available for comparison and stability.
Opt into the beta branch named gfxwork-public via Steam:
This is a big step forward, and we’d love for you to jump in and help us test it!
The game launcher is the easiest way to change between rendering modes (keep in mind that Steam launch parameters are not yet set up for this beta as those will come later as we approach the public release):
You can launch the game executable directly from the game folder if you want to experiment without the launcher:
Run CrashTime5.exe for D3D9
Run CrashTime5-DX11.exe for D3D11
We'd love your feedback! If you run into any issues or notice differences between the two renderers, please let us know. Happy testing!
