Welcome to twentieth DevLog for Alaska Gold Fever!
Hello travelers!
Welcome in Alaska!
Whoa! It's already 20 episode of this series?
How are you enjoying those devlogs?
Tell me in comments ;) i can always improve something!
In today's episode we will take a clsoer look at smith in town and some buildings - one of them is the most important one in whole game! (can you guess?)
Mr and Mr Smith
First the concept art - as usual.
I showed it earlier in previous devlogs but here is the "updated" version with details on his trusty glove!
He looks menacing, right?
I really like this mini-showcase: with terrain and going around :D
Wear protective clothes for hard work!
Let's see some details about making clothes in Blender!
It can be fun, trust me ;)
I like how it falls :D
It's important that specific piece of cloth has specific behavior - it's easier to aplly it on human model later.
Don't drink while working!
It happen that while working on smith our graphic has also worked on some "potions".
I think it's a nice oportunity to show them! :D
See those details on label! It's worth checking! Is anybody ever check those stuff in games?
Like, look at every object how it is made or is it in high resolution? :D I sometimes do!
Alaskan Finest Beverage - Don't do it at home kids!
Buildings
Remember John?
It's him! He is a decent guy who owns a public bathhouse!
He is just a concept art (for now) and he lives in 2D world!
But his bathhouse is in 3D and very real!
A view from different ankles.
And also from interior!
Buliding is ready and it goes straight to the game ;)
You can relax here and sometimes hear some gossip.
Oh , and at the beginning i said about the most important building in town
You know what is it?
A saloon!!
It's also ready, see how it became a 3D model from concept art ;)
And there a question actually - some devs in our team said that it has too many flowers at the front. (it's true that concept art has it fewer)
What you think? Tell us in comments! A saloon with Alaskan Beverage or a florist shop?
Should we change that?
