This is a long awaited system, since we introduced Elections and Approval Ratings into Nin Online, you guys have been waiting for the ability to act on it. This version of Nin Online comes with the new Uprising System and a ton of other goodies including major upgrades to the game's Day/Night system and UI reworks.
Uprising System
You've been oppressed by a tyrant ninja who claimed the position of Kami through an election. Maybe it was rigged, maybe you didn't agree with the result. Growing unrest ensues and you take the opportunity to dethrone him.
Welcome to the Uprising System
Ninja who want to stage an uprising must first have 3 tiers of requirements met. First, the approval rating of the Kami must be below 25%. Second, a Corporation must pledge to back the coup. The corporation leader who backs the coup will become the interim Kami until a new leader is picked by the new council. A powerful guild must also pledge their support for the uprising. The guild will receive a substantial experience boost for succeeding in a coup. Finally, you need 3 clan leaders from the village to join the fight. The leader of each Clan will become the new Council Members when the current leaders are deposed.
The Uprising World Event
Once all conditions are met, any of the clan leaders can schedule the uprising with 24 hour notice. The Kami will be informed to be somewhere in the village when the event begins.
The Organization backing the Uprising cannot
All members of the Organization, Guild and Clans will be able to Opt-out of the uprising individually, but naturally, they should show up when the event begins if they want to participate.
Ninja not part of the uprising, including mercenaries are allowed to defend or join in the fight on both sides.
The Kami must survive for a total of 30 minutes without dying and stay within a circle radius of where he is when the world event begins.
Successful Uprisings
Kami and Council Members are deposed. Exile is not mandatory.
The 3 Clan Leaders are now the new Council Members. They must elect a new Kami.
The Organization leader is the Interim Kami until a new leader is picked.
Failed Uprisings
All participating rebels will be killed and exiled unless they were Masked/Concealed during the uprising.
The approval rating of the current leadership resets to 50%.
Another uprising cannot happen in the village for 1 week.
You can track the Uprising Menu from the noticeboard!
Lighting Improvements
We added Sun Light effects with new god rays, dust speckles and day/night directional shadows for players and environmental pieces! Check out our before and after! Also, we improved the day/night transitions to be smooth when an admin changes the time of day so it doesn't give everyone a flashbang.

.NET 10 Upgrades
.NET 8 was losing its LTS in November 2026 so we needed to upgrade our tech stack. We upgraded the game client and server to .NET 10. Expect performance improvements for both gameplay and reduced stuttering as our server takes advantage of the latest technological improvements from Microsoft.
For those that don't know, Nin Online is built on a custom C# MMORPG engine, not Unity or a premade engine. While it was initially created in Visual Basic 6 and Eclipse Origins in 2013, we ported and then recreated the entire engine over the last 5 years.
Features
Improved HP, CP & SP Bars
Added smooth vital-bar fills and gain/loss pulses across world and HUD bars. They are also more accurate as they no longer round to integer sizes. These are the first upgrades to the bars since they were first added 13 years ago.
New EXP Bar
The EXP bar is more visible with smooth EXP progression through level-ups.
Added menu background blurs
New sexy visual effects. I actually asked Robin (RIP) if this would be possible in 2013 and he said no - he was right of course, at the time. But we finally did it.

Simplified Graphics Settings
Full customization still exists, but for players who want to quickly choose graphics settings, we now have 4 presets! Ultra is recommended because most people will have no trouble playing it at full frame rates!
(Devs) Dynamic character/resource shadows and lighting-editor improvements. Allows for customizing shadows in editor.
(Admin) Server restart/update automation, maintenance runner setup, authentication, polling, and startup fixes.
(Devs) Channel casting to allow looping caster poses.
