We're following up the Land of Spirits update with another big update. This update contains large amounts of new content, fixes and features. We hope you enjoy!
Over the last couple of months, I've been delegating a lot more work and creating pipelines for the rest of the development team to be able to push updates independently of me (Ueda). This is taking awhile to get working perfectly, but it allows our developers to push content updates faster, but part of this change means less frequent but larger code updates.
In our first year on Steam, we were pushing out code updates almost every day, there's advantages to that, but also downsides such as stability of the game service and players complaining about needing to update the game frequently. Players also requested that we hold off on updates and test them more thoroughly.
As such, Kai has also been improving our local testing work flow.
Features
Added Battle Royale Event that can be hosted by GMs
If this is popular, we might add it into the auto event roster!Added Collectables System (WIP) This is a very important system added to make player progression more exciting and encourage exploration. We will be adding Mini-game Puzzles around the game world eg. Treasure Chests you have to lock pick to get items that you can discover while exploring the game world.
Added a Red "Drops on Death" text to item descriptions for items that drop on death
(Developers) Common Events
This is a very important system that has been half complete in the code base for awhile now. But it allows us to reuse interactive NPC logic around the game world. Eg. Create a single visual script shop owner for Scribes and re-use that for each village. Previously, we would have to create each manually and update each manually when there needed to be a change.
(Developers) Added UUID requirement field for an item into a list to allow for multiple server owners
(Developers) Add PVP toggle requirement to equip items
(Developers) Add PVP toggle requirement to cast certain jutsu
(Developers) Add switch on NPCs to allow devs to make killing NPCs give crime to a player
(Developers) Add role member limit to organizations
(Developers) Add role requirement to equip certain items
(Developers) Allow jutsus to pull players to the caster instead of just knockback
(Admins) Make player level range threshold to kill a configurable server live property
