Hi everyone! It's been a week since I announced that I would begin work on v0.2 which is currently still in development, however it is complete enough for me to announce a release date. This date will be August 8th and will include a number of various changes and improvements.
Some things you might see in the new update is:
- A slightly improved user interface.
- A new menu.
- An in-game options menu that allows you to look at controls and change options on the fly.
- The weapon workbench that was discussed in the previous announcement.
- New weapons.
And MORE!
The other major change that is happening, is that the game is leaving Pre-Alpha. v0.2 also called Alpha 1 will be the first Alpha version of the game. What does this mean for the game's development? Personally, I didn't know how far I would go with the game's development when the game launched initially, but the feedback was positive and provided me with the information I needed. By transitioning into from Pre-Alpha to Alpha, my goals will be much more complex and the effort and time I will place into development will double.
The other major change that will come about with the transition is implementing a price tag. Initially, the budget I had to create the game was very small, but it increased thanks to people in my personal life. However that budget is now coming to end and in order to increase the speed of development and complexity of the game, placing a price on the game is a requirement. All money received from purchases of the game will go to directly funding the game's development and are purely in the interest of financial aiding the game's progress. I know this might be a controversial decision but it is also important for the game's success.
Anyway, now that's out of the way, I can't wait to see your guys' reactions to the new v0.2 which will be releasing on August 8th! See you then! :)
