In Skábma-Snowfall we want to immerse players as much as possible in the Sámi culture. That's why the theme song was created by Mark Malyshev from Red Stage Entertainment with the help of Hildá Länsman and the lyrics written by Marjaana Auranen also from Red Stage Entertainment (translated to Sámi by Aino Valovirta). We are delighted to have Hildá Länsman, an award winning singer and yoiker on board with us to put the spotlight on traditionnal Sámi singing.
The lyrics have drawn inspiration from the old Sámi poem: The Death of the Sun's daughter by Anders Fjellner. The melody for the theme song was created in the studio by Hildá Länsman. The individual yoiks were also born at the studio where Länsman was channeling our games characters and events.
On the other hand the game’s cut scenes are fully voice acted in Dávvisámi (northern sámi) by Sámi artists. Hildá Länsman and Wimme Saari are the most known of them. Länsman is playing the key role as Áilu, our main character and she also gives a voice to Nana, Áilu’s young cousin. We are delighted to have Hildá Länsman, an award winning singer and yoiker on board with us to put the spotlight on traditionnal Sámi singing.
