Hello Exorcists !
We are writing a new “Letter from the Developers” because we have a lot of things in the works that we would like to tell you about.
First of all, we are delighted to see the reception, overall, given to the change of name of our game. It has been a significant change, and your goodwill gives us the confidence to continue moving forward.
As we've previously mentioned, we have many elements that we would like to integrate into Ghost Exorcism INC. in order to improve the gaming experience.
- We are studying the integration of an additional variant of the Salt Shotgun. Indeed, the fact that our current option is only “two shots” is quite disabling when we see that it greatly restricts the possibilities of the players (the shotgun being held with two hands).
- We are thinking about integrating a real progression system with respect to your experience and the levels you gain, and rewards to be unlocked in "stages". Different and much more robust than our current game progression.
- We still have many ideas for maps that we want to build to give new exorcists real dread! Here is a small peek of one of the next maps:
- We are planning a complete overhaul of the multiplayer network in the long term (which will leave us much more room to create more complex interactions/events, and better player/entity synchronization).
- A complete interactive tutorial in the form of a map, so that players can learn all the mechanics of the game in a very practical and fun way.
- An encyclopedia in the tablet menu, which will contain quick reference and extremely useful information at a glance with icons, exclusive and easy-to-recognize illustrations to help players quickly and easily find the information they want, or that they are looking for.
- We are reworking some of the framework to allow us better optimization in how culling is handled (this is when objects or scenery appears or disappears in front of players). This upgrade will also afford us many more opportunities to address some pesky long-standing bugs like the "broken hands" bug, or the strange behavior of doors. The framework updates should also allow us to greatly improve FPS/performance in the near future.
