Upcoming Feature: Legendary Items
Everpixel Tactics is part tactical RPG, part lootfest, and all pixels. But it is also very much about trying out crazy character builds and team compositions. Everpixel Tactics wouldn't be all that exciting if the loot was boring, and trying out new character builds wouldn't be very fun without fat loot.
Enter tons of pixelated loot. Everpixel Tactics takes its cues on equipment primarily from the ol' classic Diablo II. Already, Everpixel Tactics can have players awash in a dizzying array of loot replete with magical affixes. While some affixes are rarer than others, they all basically boil down to "does extra damage" or "increases skill in XYZ perk tree." That's fine for your standard, run-of-the-mill magical dagger. But Everpixel Tactics can do better. And it will - by incorporating its first set of legendary items as a part of the Winter update later this year.
Like other magical items, Legendary items can spawn with a whole host of affixes (again, things like "does extra damage" or "protects even better against damage".) But legendary items will also spawn with one-of-a-kind magical properties unique only to that item. These items are intended as a reward for players taking on tough missions but also as yet another way to build unique, powerful members of their squad. And players will need powerful squad-members - the longer an end-game Apocalypse drags on, the more the odds will be stacked against a player.
Let's discuss our first legendary item: The Hand of Justice.

The Hand of Justice
The Hand of Justice is a greathammer perfect for those of judgmental inclinations. When one hits their enemies with it, they will be granted a powerful, long-lasting barrier against damage - but only when they actually hit their foes. After all, the best (worst) judges are the true believers.
When the respective trees are implemented, it will also provide sizeable skill bonuses to Paladins and Sanctimancers (those who practice Holy magic.) It will make for a prized weapon for characters invested in either tree, but especially by Warriors who gain significant bonuses while fighting with a barrier buff. Better yet, it is an optimal weapon for characters invested in all three of those perk trees.
As usual, players will be able to customize their own Hands of Justice by painting it their way. Want it to match your squad's colors? Go for it. Or perhaps you want it to be golden - because slapping enemies with a hand of gold sends an even stronger message.
