Overview
This update brings the world of MO57 to life with intelligent wildlife, dynamic weather integration, player-controlled
world generation, and a complete quest system for tutorials and objectives. Characters now spawn on beaches instead of
mountaintops, creatures follow realistic day/night cycles, and your world seed determines terrain generation for
shareable, reproducible worlds.
---
Creature AI System
Wildlife now exhibits realistic survival behavior with a full activity cycle:
Behavioral States
- Active - Normal wandering, foraging, and awareness
- Resting - Creatures rest at dusk, conserving energy
- Sleeping - Deep sleep at night with reduced awareness
- Fleeing - Threat detection triggers escape behavior
- Fighting - Cornered or territorial creatures will defend themselves
- Dead - Full mortality with death animations
Perception & Awareness
- Sight-based threat detection with configurable ranges
- Hearing system responds to footstep noise (sprinting is louder!)
- Threat memory - creatures remember dangers and stay alert
- Day/night behavioral shifts driven by the time system
Medical System Integration
- Creatures use the same wound/vitals system as players
- Injuries affect behavior (wounded animals flee more readily)
- Hunting has realistic consequences
---
Weather System Integration
Full integration with Ultra Dynamic Sky and Ultra Dynamic Weather:
Save/Load Support
- Time of day persists across save/load cycles
- Weather state (cloud coverage, fog density) is remembered
- Load a save at sunset, return to that exact sunset
Weather Provider Architecture
- Modular bridge system connects MOFramework to UDS/UDW
- Temperature, precipitation, wind data available to all game systems
- Medical system reacts to environmental conditions (hypothermia, heat stroke)
---
World Seed System
Take control of procedural generation:
New Game Options
- Enter a custom seed (text or number) or generate random
- Seeds determine terrain features, biome placement, resource distribution
- Share seeds with friends for identical world generation
Voxel Integration
- Seeds flow through to Voxel Plugin Pro terrain generation
- Consistent worlds from the same seed
- Saved games remember their seed for terrain regeneration on load
---
Terrain-Aware Spawning
No more spawning on mountain peaks:
Beach Spawn Algorithm
- Characters spawn on beaches (100-3000cm above water level)
- Expanding ring search finds the lowest valid terrain
- Fallback system always prefers lower elevations
- Configurable height thresholds per game mode
Fall-Through Safety
- Automatic recovery if character falls through loading terrain
- 2-second detection window, then teleport to safety
- No more soft-locks from voxel chunk loading gaps
---
Quest System
Complete data-driven quest framework:
Quest Features
- DataTable-driven quest definitions (no code required for new quests)
- Multiple objective types: events, crafting, item pickup, skill leveling, location reach
- Sequential and parallel objective support
- Auto-start tutorials when prerequisites are met
- Full save/load persistence
Quest UI
- HUD objective tracker (configurable, shows 1-3 tracked quests)
- Full quest log panel with quest details
- Track/untrack toggle for quest visibility
Objective Types
- Event - Triggered by game events (menu opened, action performed)
- ItemCraft - Craft specific items
- ItemPickup - Pick up items from the world
- SkillLevelUp - Reach skill milestones
- LocationReach - Enter trigger volumes
- Custom - Blueprint-defined conditions
---
Bug Fixes & Polish
- Fixed crafting menu retaining station name after closing
- Fixed AI perception timing warnings
- Added DataTable caching to reduce log spam
- Increased spawn height offset for safer landings
- Fixed Blueprint interface detection for weather providers
- Git LFS enabled for large binary assets
---
What's Next
- Pawn job assignment system
- Settlement building foundations
- Expanded creature roster (predators, herd behavior)
- Weather effects on gameplay (rain extinguishes fires, snow slows movement)
---
Thanks for following development! Questions and feedback always welcome.
