eteeConnect 2023.06.15 beta release

1. Basic Information

This beta release should improve user experience with the following features:

  • Dynamic baselines: Should eliminate the need for quick calibration (i.e. double-click power button). Note: feature still available if needed.
  • Input filtering: Filtering functions embedded into the controllers.

2. How to opt into the beta

To activate the beta release you will have:

  • Activate the eteeConnect beta branch (see details below)
  • Update your controller firmware version to 1.3.5.beta.0 (see details below)

2.1. Activate the eteeConnect [beta]

  1. In Steam, navigate to: "Steam > eteeConnect > Settings".
  2. Enter the "Betas" section.
  3. Under "Beta Participation", click on the dropdown-menu and select: "beta - External Testing".
  4. If the beta was activated successfully, you will see a [beta] tag next to your eteeConnect app name.

2.2. Update your controller firmware version

  1. Run the eteeConnect app.
  2. Navigate to: "eteeConnect > Options".
  3. Under "Update > eteeControllers Firmware", click on the drop-down menu and select version: 1.3.5.beta.0. Click "Update".
  4. Follow the instructions to update controllers firmware.
  5. To check if the firmware was updated successfully, navigate again to "Options > Update > eteeControllers Firmware" and click on the refresh icon. Your version should have changed to 1.3.5.beta.0.

3. List of changes

3.1. eteeController firmware

New version available: 1.3.5.beta.0

Instructions: To update your controllers, please, use eteeConnect. Go to: Options > Update > Firmware, and follow on-screen instructions.

Changes to firmware:

  • Added dynamic baseline feature, which allows the device to automatically call quick calibration when necessary.
  • Embedded input filters into the devices, resulting in less input mis-triggering.

3.2. etee driver for SteamVR

New release version available: etee driver for SteamVR - v1.4.1.beta.1

  • Developed a release version compatible with the new firmware.
