Welcome to the First Edition of the DAM Classics!
In this new Community segment, we highlight some of the old winners of the DAM Challenge and briefly go over what made them special at the time.
This month's feature is the Winner of the 2023 "Feast" DAM Challenge:
The Minstrel's Feast Tavern
The tavern, nestled on the edge of an enchanting forest, boasts a grand hall filled with ample seating for weary travelers. A serene fishing pond lies nearby, while small stables offer rest for their mounts. In the heart of the woods, a stage awaits performers, all wrapped in a warm, cozy ambiance that beckons to all.
Our community member Adrian put in the work at a time when Dungeon Alchemist was not as feature-rich as it is now, including some neat tricks to bring this map to life.
This map is a legacy build, meaning it lacks multi-levels, roofing, and abstract lighting.

The creator used a mixture of terrain brush splashes to make the paths feel more well-trodden. They also mixed and matched flooring types in the tavern's main hall, including a stone hearth with a hand-placed stone border, which really helps it stand out.
Lastly, they used the Steam Workshop to download horses and placed them in the stables, making the map feel more lively.
3,079 Alchemists have recognised Adrian's work, and so do we! Congratulations!
