Howdy gamers! We’re back with another post to chat about changes we’ve made to Sanctuary Saga thanks to YOUR input from Next Fest, as well as a few other announcements leading into Release Day on March 8th.
A lot of the feedback the community gave during Next Fest was positive: art style, the battle system, tinkering with party composition, etc, but a prevailing theme was the Wall-of-Text Tutorial stopping you from gameplay. We completely agree and have not only massively reduced the total tutorial wordcount but we also added the ability to skip it entirely. For any player who wishes to skip the tutorial, the game manual is linked from the title screen and should provide everything you need in the event you get stuck! We will add to it as the community reaches out to us with questions and comments.
Some of the tutorial images were also adjusted for readability, with the instructional text appearing before the image instead of over images. Hopefully this will get players through the crunchy tech bits and straight into the gameplay.
As we roll into release week, a variety of influencers will be streaming Sanctuary Saga. To check out the gameplay prior to launch be sure you’re following @SancSagaRPG on Twitter for the latest news and stream schedules. We will also be posting those updates in our Discord. An easy way to support the project, even if you can’t buy it on release, is to push out any news and posts to your personal social channels. This can have a massive impact on our success and we really appreciate everyone who has been doing this already!
On the topic of streams, our game director, Kevin Prothero, will be doing a Developer Plays stream of Sanctuary Saga from 1:00-3:00 pm ET on March 7th using the Boomer’s Workshop Twitch channel (ttv/boomers_workshop). Feel free to drop by as he experiments with different party compositions and answers any questions you have about all things Sanctuary Saga!
That’s all for now but you’re bound to hear from us soon so close to launch! We hope you’re as excited as we are. :D
