Hey there! We hope you are doing well.
It has been a while since we posted anything on Steam, so we wanted to share a little bit of what we are doing right now.
We are still learning how to use the platform properly for announcements, but I hope each post is a little bit better than the one before :)
Features
We are currently working on several core features that will be necessary to achieve a full (and satisfying) roguelite deckbuilder experience for Gamble Tower, most of the time-consuming features being the permanent progression related ones, albeit there are always those pesky little bugs that always takes a toll on us and on the clock.
The progress made on the content itself is going to be listed below, there are lots of things that we made within the development time we had so far, but we chose to talk about the most interesting things.
Inn
The inn (still very WIP) is going to be where you'll go after finishing a run, this is where you will be able to buy permanent upgrades, interact with merchants for not completely entirely legal purchases and carefully select the tower's dangers (the game's difficulty system) between each new run.
Orb Upgrade System
Another very recent addition to our cast of merchants was the Crystal Hobgoblin, an unfortunate creature who is forced to sell you upgrade crystals that you can attach to your orbs in order to create very interesting effects and synergies. (and of course, increase your overall power)
More Content Variety in General
Despite the content we already have inside the game, we still want to add a lot of variety to the game's existing mechanics, such as orbs, more upgrade crystals, enemies, segments, bosses and if possible, NPCs.
Of course, this is not our top priority since our main goal when releasing Gamble Tower as an Early Access game is to be able to add that variety while you can play the game by yourself. (and hopefully give us feedback and ideas that we would love to add to the game!)
How is development going? Is there a release date?
Unfortunately there is no official release date that we can yet make available to the public, we are currently not working full-time in Gamble Tower, therefore we don't want to announce any date that we would not be able to commit to properly.
The game will still release this year as Early Access and we will keep posting updates as frequently as we can (on Twitter too, if you so wish to follow us there!), but for now, we'll abstain from making a reckless announcement.
We hope you like the game when it is finally ready.
Thank you for reading! Expect news soon.
- Ian.
