Hello there, Castaways! 🏝️
Today we've got some awesome news to share with you: Ikonei Island has been nominated for the Best Family Game award at gamescom 2022!!!
This is huge for us and we want to share our excitement with you, our amazing supporters, and tell you all about it!
Gamescom? 🎮
Gamescom is a trade fair for videogames held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It's the world's largest gaming event (measured by exhibition space and the number of visitors), with +370K visitors and 1153 exhibitors attending the show in 2019, and 13M digital attendees in 2021.
Not your average videogame fair!
The Award 🏅
The games submitted for the gamescom award are assessed by an independent and internationally staffed jury of around 30 experts from the gaming industry. Their ranking takes into consideration 7 fixed criteria: graphics, gameplay, sound, entertainment, technological progress, and sales prospects.
With the Best Family Game gamescom award, the jury honors 3 videogames that invite children and their parents to have fun. And we made it into one of these nominees!
Now we are crossing our fingers and waiting for the results 🤞
