Dear players,
It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce today that I will pause development on the game until further notice.
I made good progress until the end, but I always wondered if the game would be a success or just a failure like my last one.
I've been working on this project for 2 years now, but after I published the shop page on Steam, I had to change the style because I didn't get along with the real textures as well as I intended.
The biggest problem is still the animals for me, I wanted to have its own animal and plant world in the game for every biome on this planet, which would have meant that in addition to the hairy animals I would also have a wide variety of birds and reptiles, as well as some with visible skin, would have to paint realistically.
Because I don't want to just fall back on ready-made animals and actually can't because I'm disabled due to mental illness and therefore can't do a paid job.
However, the change in graphic style has caused me to keep wondering if the game can even be a success to give me a better life than what I'm leading right now.
Another reason is that over time I've collected more and more ideas about what else I could include that I no longer know what to work on first.
According to a friend, the hype surrounding new crafting survival games is dying out, so I'll focus on other projects I already have ideas for.
I'll just upload prototypes to itch.io for now and see if there's enough interest in any of the projects to put it on Steam.
You can reach me on itch.io at this link, all prototypes will be free to play: https://butter-fly-games.itch.io/
Please understand that I cannot continue to develop the game for the few players who have it on the wishlist after 2 years on steam.
Thank you and see you soon
